The following projects as explained below represents ReadyToLeadAfrica’s projects implemented since 2020 till date. These projects cut across Advocacy, Community Organizing, Bills and Legislation Influencing, Peace Building during Elections, Elections Observation and Covid-19 Response Engagement.

YouthMarchForth for Electoral Reforms 1.0 2020

YouthMarchForth is a signature campaign project and slogan of RTLA designed to galvanize, organize and engage youths across Nigeria working through the 36 states and FCT chapters of ReadyToLeadAfrica Movement to demand action from the 9th National Assembly on the passage and signing into law of a new electoral amendment act for Nigeria.

YouthMarchForth 1.0 was severely affected by the outbreak of Covid-19 and was implemented with very minimal on the ground engagement due to the national lockdown imposed by the federal government of Nigeria.

Clap4HealthCareHeroes Campaign to Appreciate Healthcare Workers (Outbreak of Covid-19) 2020

The ReadyToLeadAfrica #Clap4HealthCareHeroes Campaign was created to appreciate all healthcare frontline workers who were directly exposed to the virus but went out to serve their communities during the height of the outbreak of covid-19.

We implemented the #Clap4HealthCareHeroes campaign using a Video-Driven strategy where state chapters led by state leaders and their chapter members clapped for all healthcare workers and made reassuring statements of support towards their sacrifices during the pandemic. The #Clap4HealthCareHeroes campaign reached over 50,000,000 (Fifty Million) people across Nigeria and the rest of the world and also influenced the First Ladies of the 36 states to join the campaign of clapping for healthcare workers

Youth Awakening 1.0

Youth Awakening 1.0 was an inspirational dialogue and a partnership between ReadyToLeadAfrica, Godbless Otubure and Olakunle Soriyan to explore the role of youths in a post-pandemic world. Youth Awakening also analyzed the role youths played globally during the pandemic and asked deep questions about if this represented the possibilities of a much deeper awakening by young people as a result of the pandemic? Over 1500 youths attended the online event and participated by asking questions and sharing their new gained wisdom.

HonourJune12PassElectoralReforms Campaign 2020

HonourJune12PassElectoralReforms was another ReadyToLeadAfrica’s signature project designed to draw attention to the need for electoral reforms in Nigeria leveraging the occasion of Nigeria’s Democracy Day i.e, JUNE12. The project was implemented using the 36 states chapters and the FCT to further engage lawmakers and the media on the need for the 9th National Assembly to honour the legacy of MKO Abiola who is regarded as the face of the freest and fairest elections in Nigeria by delivering electoral reforms to Nigerians. We partnered with A list media houses such as Channels TV, TVC, AIT, NTA and the Abiola Family House in Ikeja to further advocate for electoral reforms.

HonourJune12PassElectoralReforms had over 1200 youths across Nigeria participate in a peaceful and strategic engagement with key lawmakers and media houses as a way to continue the advocacy for electoral reforms.

Youth Engagement (A Pandemic Year & Youth Response for the Future – Bring Your Solutions) 2020

The Youth Engagement (A Pandemic Year & Youth Response for the future – Bring Your Solution) was a global leaders mobilization project designed and executed by ReadyToLeadAfrica in partnership with the Presidential Precinct USA, International Youth Foundation USA, YouthCareGlobal Ireland as well as Patrick Stephenson Ghana ReadyToLeadAfrica Country Leader, Mbarak Kenya ReadyToLeadAfrica Country Leader and Badru ReadyToLeadAfrica USA Chapter Leader.

TYE was an opportunity for leaders across the 3 continents to explore new ideas created by youths as a direct response to the disruptions occasioned by the outbreak of covid-19. The virtual event was well attended and solutions as well as collaborative efforts were forged as a result.

We had over 500 youths from across the world participate in the online virtual meeting.

International Democracy Day Global Town Hall 2020 (How Can Millennials & Gen-Zs Save Democracy) and Launch of KeepersOfDemocracy Initiative. 2020

The 2020 IDD-Global Town Hall by ReadyToLeadAfrica in partnership with the US Consulate Lagos Nigeria was a unique program and opportunity to reevaluate the state of democracy globally from the lens of global practitioners and stakeholders from Nigeria, USA, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania Zimbabwe and Ghana.

The 2020 IDD-Global Town Hall by ReadyToLeadAfrica also featured guest panelists and speakers such as Prof. Kingsley Moghalu-Former Presidential Candidate, Nigeria, Jennifer Foltz-Deputy Public Affairs Officer, US Consulate Lagos, Nancy Hopkins, Presidential Precinct, USA, James French – FinTech Entrepreneur & Board of Directors & Chair (Montpelier Descendants Committee, James Madison Montpelier, Samson Itodo ED YIAGA, Malene Rousseu –Woman Lead South Africa, Masele Msita of Tanzania.

The 2020 IDD-Global Town Hall by ReadyToLeadAfrica was attended by over 1000 youths globally and also saw the launch of the #KeepersOfDemocracy Initiative designed to mobilize and engage Millennials and Gen-Zs in the hard work of preserving, protecting and promoting democracy on the African continent as well as globally. At the launch of the KeepersOfDemocracy initiative, we had over 30 registrations across the world.

Gubernatorial Election Observation Edo State & Implementation of Youth Against Violence Accord 2020

ReadyToLeadAfrica was part of the September 2020 Edo State Governorship election as a promoter of peace through the Youth Against Violence Accord (YAVA) implemented by our Edo State Chapter which was well received by both the APC and the PDP candidates. We also served as media resource observers for TVC News Nigeria on the ground covering the elections. Our work also involved encouraging young people to shun violence and embrace greater participation in the electoral process

Gubernatorial Election Observation Ondo State & Implementation of Youth Against Violence Accord 2020

ReadyToLeadAfrica was also part of the Ondo State October 2020 Governorship Election as observers and promoters of peace through the Youth Against Violence Accord (YAVA) implemented by our Ondo State Chapter which was well received by both the APC, ZLP and the PDP candidates. We also served as media resource observers for TVC News Nigeria on the ground covering the elections. Our work also involved encouraging young people to shun violence and embrace greater participation in the electoral process.

Engagement in Liberia Special Senatorial Election Monitoring and Youth Civic Engagement 2020

ReadyToLeadAfrica working with NAMORTE encouraged young Liberians under the 2020 YPLS Alumni Project during the Special Liberia Senatorial Elections to organize sensitization projects to inspire more participation amongst not just the youths of Liberia in the December 2020 Senatorial elections, but also older Liberians as a way to deepen democracy and self government.

Engagement in Ghanaian Presidential and Parliamentary Election Monitoring and Youth Civic Engagement 2020

ReadyToLeadAfrica working with the Delaware African Coalition was also involved in the Ghanaian Presidential and Parliamentary Elections as observers and promoters of credible elections. We also played the role of encouraging youths to vote and participate in the process of building democracy. We also engaged the Ghanaian Electoral Commission on the need to improve youth involvement in the electoral process.

YouthMarchForth for Electoral Reforms 2.0 2021

YouthMarchForth for Electoral Reforms 2.0 which remains a signature campaign project designed to galvanize, organize and engage youths across Nigeria working through the 36 states and FCT chapters of ReadyToLeadAfrica Movement to demand action from the 9th National Assembly on electoral reforms saw the implementation of the Phase 1 which also followed the initial countdown as set by the 9th National Assembly to pass Electoral ACT on or by end of March 2021.

YouthMarchForth 2.0 Phase 1 was implemented using the state chapters of ReadyToLeadAfrica Movement to engage with serving Senators and Members of the House of Representatives via their constituency offices in their local communities. Our state chapter leaders working with members staged a peaceful march to different constituency offices across Nigeria armed with placards, large banners and our 10 points demands demanding the passage and signing into law of the new electoral amendment act.

ReadyToLeadAfrica also led a peaceful march on the national assembly on the 24th of March 2021 in the presence of press and other stakeholders to present the citizens 10Demands to the Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Chairman and Sponsor of the bill Hon. Aishat Dukku at the National Assembly urging the 9th National Assembly to pass the Independent National Electoral Commission ACT 2021 into law.

YouthMarchForth 2.0 Phase 1 saw the organization and mobilization of over 600 youths across Nigeria to specific constituency offices with specific demands to senators and members of the house of representatives.
